About Us
Mine:  The Documentary

YSDADA is committed to returning pets to their rightful owners after a disaster.  Our planning, processes, and linkages in our community will prevent pets from being taken out of the area and adopted to other families.

This documentary shows how a lack of coordinated effort resulted in pets being moved out of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and adopted to families across the country.

Horses flee fire in Malibu CA

We are a nonprofit, local organization and organized under the IRS 501(c)(3) section.  This means that most contributions are tax-deductible.

All of our efforts are supported by volunteers; we don't have any paid staff.

Our linkages with the organizations above provide us with a breadth of resources and we have all pledged to work together during a disaster.

YSDADA is the only nonprofit animal disaster organization in the area that will respond immediately in the event of a disaster.  We will work with local emergency personnel to take care of our clients.  If the disaster continues beyond 3 days, we may get additional support from other regional and national organizations.
