YSDADA Participates in Drills
In May, YSDADA joined other disaster relief organizations and agencies for a 2-day drill to test readiness for a real disaster.
Code named Golden Guardian, the event was a simulated mass flood scenario for most northern California counties. YSDADA responded in the Yuba-Sutter area.
On July 20th, YSDADA responded for a drill at a mock event at Beale Air Force Base. Base officials invited local response agencies to test their readiness to protect the lives of staff, families, and pets on base.
In October, YSDADA participated in the annual California Shake-Out earthquake drill by exercising their automated volunteer call notification system. This system sends out pre-recorded notifications within a 5-min period and reports back who is available to deploy.
For more information on how to become a disaster volunteer, send an email to volunteer@ysdada.org and peruse the rest of this website.
New The December 2011 YSDADA newsletter is now available.
